The activity of Ukrainian Cinema Foundation consists of:
- publication of annual catalogues of Ukrainian cinema
These catalogues give detail information about Ukrainian films. Among them classic films and modern cinema production, films of famous directors and gifted newcomers. Our task is to give the most detail information about maximal quantity of Ukrainian films of different genres. So we also take TV films and serials. We hope that this helps to make European film viewers and distributors acquainted with our cinematography.
- presentation of new Ukrainian films at the biggest international film festivals and film markets
Last time more and more countries from Eastern Europe make themselves known through the cinema screens all over the world. Let's recall the "Romanian phenomena" or films of Serbian director Emir Kusturizza. Very often these countries because of its "exotism" and "demonisation" became a real creative laboratory, experimental field for directors from Western Europe (for example, it's known, that territories of Romania, Transylvania, Hungary, Slovakia are beneficial for cinema phantasm in the genre of thriller/horror/mystical drama).
We would like to create the vogue of Ukrainian cinema. We've already had talented directors and striking films. But still the great and laborious work should be done. The first step to our dream is presentation of Ukrainian films at the international film festivals and film markets.
The first action of Ukrainian Cinema Foundation is a stand of Ukrainian cinema at the European cinema market at Berlinale. There will be represented full-length film "At the river" by Eva Neyman and short films "The stray", "Taxi driver", "The Oath", "On the edge".

This is the non-commercial project. It's main aim is popularization of Ukrainian films round the world and to attract the attention of foreign buyers (TV channels, distributors, production studios) to the Ukrainian cinema. We would like to emphasize one's more that these issues will be provided free of charge beyond Ukraine.
- restoration of film copies of classical Ukrainian films
Preserving of our cinema heritage is a priory direction of our activity. The process of cinema restoration has already been started in Ukraine. As the result the films of famous Ukrainian director Oleksandr Dovzhenko were restored, digitized and rewrote on DVD. Once he said that "never had seen his own film in good view". At last the modern technologies can make his dreams come true.
We are going to continue and strengthen this tradition in order to represent properly our classic cinematography not only in our country but also abroad.
- organization of festivals of Ukrainian cinema around the world
We have lot of plans about organization festivals of Ukrainian cinema. We are going to hold a Festival of Ukrainian cinema in Poland (Warsaw and Krakow). Also we are looking forward to the week of Ukrainian cinema in Paris. Then comes presentation of Ukrainian cinema at Cannes Film Festival and promotion of Ukrainian cinema at Moscow IFF.
