At The River / U reki

This is a story about a day in the life of a mother and her daughter, who have already reached a stage in life where their age difference has become practically invisible.

On this day the two are visited by a young official who, quite unwittingly, inspires the mother to feel young once more, she decides to set out for a walk by the river. It becomes increasingly clear to them that their right to live has already gone by and altogether they make a ludicrous impression wherever they go. The story is about the real value and meaning of life, whether it be young and old. Through the eyes of both women we will observe what the end of life actually means.

Film successfully takes part in many international film festivals.

In 2005 it was screened in the non-competition program of Rotterdam film festival.

In 2007 film was shown at the International film festival in London. It was first Ukrainian film that was screened there.

In the same year "At the River" won silver prize of 37th International film festival in Lahov (Poland).

Also this film will be presented at the European cinema market in Berlin by Ukrainian cinema foundation.
